Teaching Remotely due to COVID-19?

Praeter Software recognizes the challenges of teaching remotely and would like to extend a FREE copy of Physics 101 to all educators and students at this time. Download the demo and then register using the serial: SIZ9NKLYAS

Understand the world of physics in one app

Physics 101 is a collection of powerful simulations, tools, and equations across the field of physics. Simulate a circuit, or launch a projectile, work with the most common force diagram situations, interact with a light ray, and more. Better understand deep relationships as you see values updated instantly in the simulations or solve for any variable in one of the over 75 equations as you type.

Whether you are a teacher wanting to augment your lessons by displaying interactive graphics before a class or a student wanting a better grasp of the material, Physics 101 is your go-to solution on the Mac or PC.

A Formula for every occasion

There are more than 75 formulas across a dozen sections where you can solve for any variable. As you type your values the answer is calculated in real-time before your eyes. You can even input values via a slider to see how the answer is affected over a certain range.

More than just an answer

Physics is more than just a numerical answer — it is about understanding the rich nature behind the equations. Each formula explains its purpose and lists out an explanation for each of the variables used. Since Physics 101 lets you calculate values on the fly you can start to uncover the subtle and nuanced nature of the equations as you enter values.

Includes Printable PDF Reference Guides

Physics 101 comes with printable reference sheets covering kinematics, projectiles, dynamics, work/energy, and gravitation. A mathematics reference sheet is also provided covering common derivatives, integrals, and trigonometric functions.

I wish I had this when I was a student — Physics 101. Wouldn’t you like to have in a single piece of software all the cool algorithms and calculations you need to do as a physics student? Someone has done that and for you. … It’s so cool and fast.

Kinematics was the first study of physics, pioneered by Isaac Newton over 300 years ago when he first constructed the equations that modeled movement. With Motion Analysis, you can enter an object’s acceleration, initial velocity and time, and Motion Analysis will instantly graph position, velocity, and acceleration for its movement. Move your mouse over the graph, and the time, position, velocity, and acceleration will be shown in real time corresponding to the position of the cursor.
Physics 101 includes a powerful projectile simulator. Specifically designed to provide the information that you need to know about a projectile in flight, whether it is an ideal motion projectile or one affected by linear air drag, This simulator quickly calculates every detail of its trajectory at the click of a mouse you could ever need.
The force simulator contains over a dozen of the most common force situations including atwood’s and angled ramps and more. Quickly find the acceleration and tension of these common force situations, but more importantly get a better grasp of the overall picture as you change masses, or angles, or tensions.
Orbits allows one to quickly see how changing an orbit, be it the eccentricity or other factors, affects orbital period, average velocity, circumferance and so on. Enter your initial values for semi-minor and semi-major axises, then click calculate to see your orbit on the screen. You can even see how changing the orbit affects the values in real-time by using the sliders on the left and bottom!
Optics shows you how a beam of light refracts from one medium to another using Snell’s Law. Interactively see how the beam changes by modifying the index of refraction and the incident angle, all by moving the sliders. Instantly see values calculate such as the angle of refraction and critical angle and more.
Addressing the physics of sound and waves, the Superposition module allows you to see in real-time how the sounds we hear are oftentimes the combination of many waves added together.  Just move the sliders to see the beautiful waveforms emerge.
The circuit simulator is powerful and shockingly easy — simulate up two 18 components whether they are resistors or voltage sources in series or parallel circuits. Just select the component type and enter its value and the simulator will automatically calculate its voltage, current, and power. Explore how changing one component can affect an entire circuit to get a better grasp behind electricity.
Quickly examine the relationships between position, acceleration and the velocity of two classic scenarios: Pendulum and Mass on a Spring. Just enter a few initial conditions and see the graph generated. Roll your mouse over the graph to see specific values in terms of time.
Vectors and vector calculation are regular occurrences in Physics as they are crucial in representing physical event such as forces, velocities, momentum, and more. Vector calculation can be tedious -— until now. Physics 101’s vector-addition feature makes vector mathematics easier than ever before, allowing you to find the vector sum up to twenty-four vectors.
A convenient built-in scientific calculator is provided to calculate numbers and stuff.
Click on elements in the periodic to add their molecular weights and calculate such quantities as moles and grams.
See the quantities of gravitation at a glance such as acceleration, orbital velocity, orbital time, and gravitational force. Quickly gain an understand by seeing these qualities change as you select different planets and see how multiples of radius can affect these quantities.
Calculate the average and standard deviation for a set of lab data
Find the center of mass in a system of particles along an axis
Examine the relationship between frequency and wavelength along the electromagnetic spectrum.
